Meanwhile, ladies and gentlemen!
Welcome to another episode of our ZIL.
In this video, I hope we'll have a ride already.
There's a massive amount of work to be done,
but there is still no time to drag something out.
Let's begin with the easiest part.
This is the right pedal that should be installed somewhere here.
By the entire look of this door, you can clearly see that, in fact, it weighs almost nothing.
Unfortunately, Soviet-made metal wasn’t quite fine in all spots.
Besides, metal after sandblasting is no more soviet metal,
but a sandblasted metal.
We have to take into account that it became thinner.
It brings a lot of problems out.
Anyway, thanks to guys' efforts in the service and their urge to make the ZIL perfect,
because we have new doors.
Look, we didn’t make any sandblasting of the inner side to save some construction rigidity.
Yeah, yeah. Don't worry; I think everything will be okay.
You can see it here that if there's some, it’s just beginning to rust.
And my well-keeping and some additional coating inside the door should save the situation.
At least it lasts our time, as we say.
These are original gauges of ZIL 130.
Please note that everything here has sensors, and there are a lot of wires,
and one tube is connected here.
This tube has an actual present pressure of 6 standard atmospheres
that were coming into this gauge.
The gauge is an exact thing that was installed right into the dashboard.
This is not when a sensor is installed on the air tank and wires connected to the dial in the cab.
No, these 6 atmospheres of air pressure were really coming right into the driver’s face.
I don’t know what could happen if all the stuff exploded into the face
with all these arrows and glass and everything,
but I hope it never happened.
But still, these 6 atmospheres are entering the dashboard.
Now about the panel itself.
People from "Screw" have an incredible desire for self-improvement
and a willingness to do everything in this world.
I was sincerely thinking that they were planning to bring the dashboard to special customizers.
Some can actually combine dashboards from different cars into one.
But in fact, people got digging really deep with soldering iron and rosin flux,
and they got high, and they've made a full hybrid dashboard.
Moreover, some chance intervened.
When we were making the first episodes of ZIL 130,
the original frame of ZIL 130 matched perfectly on the side members of BMW X5M.
And the suspension with the V8 engine fitted into the frame just like the original.
This situation with the dashboard is now the second.
As I was showing you last time that they match pretty nicely,
but there’s only one universe where diameters of different gauges match –
and it’s the universe of SCrew service.
They were lucky ducks because X5M gauges were really matching the width of
ZIL 130 gauge cups, well, with a little fixing with the angle grinder.
This way… I must be wrong to take it in my hands, I’m putting it down. I’m honest. Sanya, did you remember?
I'm putting it back. It's not finished yet, it's just…
I'll show you this way.
This is the dashboard of ZIL 130, which has X5M gauges inside.
The middle part is going to be tinted, no worry about that.
This work is in progress.
There will even be green indicators for turn signals.
I mean, ZIL indicator lamps are going to be kept original.
Instead of this, perhaps some button for… engine oil dumping?
Probably. When you see that things are totally messed up.
We’re coming to the concept of maximally original ZIL 130.
I can’t believe it until I get inside.
I want so much to do that.
Then, the original interior is almost finished.
If I dig into a speech about it, we'll get a 40-min episode.
That's why we'll speak about it in the next video,
and now it's time to assemble it quickly and have a ride!
Wow! A horn!
How to start it? Is that all? It seems like you already know.
First, run, gentlemen!
What's the plan? Better keep the steering straight? Go straight over here.
To the left!
Back or right? Yes, go back!
To the left?
And even though the car had been standing in the service for about a… month?
More or less.
Something about that: there was a massive amount of work that we’ve done.
It’s almost a cupcake, a polished toy.
It was unreal for ZIL to be like that, never, in no circumstances,
but still, he’s beautiful in that way.
It’s almost perfect, and it’s almost like original, some work is still left here to be done.
No matter how close we are to the goal, there’s always something to work on.
Now, before moving out to the road, we need to fill the transmission with oil.
Put the resonator into the right position when the arrow looks backward, not forward.
I don't know what it gives us if it ever does. We’re still arguing.
But just in case, as there is an arrow, it should be installed in the right way.
The exhaust sound can probably change too.
Perhaps it will bring something more interesting.
And anyway, I hope that in a couple of days we'll already kick some assholes in the city.
But actually, he will be the major asshole.
So, gentlemen, today, a significant event is going to happen.
We're going to ride ZIL for the first time in the last couple of years.
It had been abandoned for more than a whole year.
A year and a half, wasn't it? We said it in the previous video.
And finally, we’re driving it.
It was actually planned to just give it maintenance, change the oil, and so on.
And then the rebuilding happened.
Now we have almost upgraded vehicles.
Its cabin is painted, and the interior changed a lot.
Everything here is fancy and beautiful, and it's looking like the original.
Many of the suspension parts were replaced, and all oils were changed too.
Until we haven't managed yet to break the engine,
we need to race with a couple of day-to-day wheels.
Not a sports car, not a Porsche, nothing about that.
Just the usual vehicle which you can meet in the city.
It should help us understand we are faster than the main traffic or not.
I mean, 0-100 time without any quarters.
And after that, we can make some race if we won't break the engine.
Okay, guys. We have an opportunity to race with the car,
which can often challenge you in the traffic.
This pretends to be a BMW 3 with M-kit.
But! It also has a stage-1 which is traditional for the 2L engine,
and it gives 250-290 horsepower.
We just suppose, because there wasn’t any measuring.
All this stuff also has an AWD.
We’re probably dead because our best 0-100 time was 5.5 sec.
These cars on the stage-1 can go lower 5 sec, I mean 5.0-5.2 sec.
A skill of losing doesn’t hurt either.
Go and see how fast we are in accelerating to 100 km/h.
We don't have any launch control, and we won't get it any soon, of course.
Let's try. I'm ready.
Come on!!! Neck in the neck!
And we win, really?
No way! What's the result?
This should be great news for us and bad news for BMW 3.
I think it doesn’t have Stage 1.
Well, maybe… Or maybe it should be fixed.
Well… Everything's beautiful, and we've got 6.0 seconds of acceleration time,
and we may go to those who re-flashed it.
I like that it doesn’t have a powerful kick on the 1st gear.
Everybody is just kicking forward on the 1st and try to rush and lead.
They're like, "wow, I made it"! And here comes the 2nd gear.
You're pushing forward so hard, like it was in "Fast&Furious" – "wow, such a joyride".
As usual, we were slow a little on the 1st gear,
and we gave those people a flash of hope and then: "go home!"
A BMW with a 2L engine.
No, it’s too hard for him.
He went off nicely.
At the same time, the car isn't finished yet, and I would say that in the next episode,
we will do our best to make it faster.
At these moments, we still have some trouble with which I'll tell you at the end of the episode.
We discovered them right before the test run.
I think it became even a bit quieter.
It stopped blowing into my feet.
All of the holes in the firewall were welded.
Everything's done correctly. I'm driving in a comfortable interior.
We don’t have door seals yet because original seals
we've got from ZIL wouldn't let the doors close.
It often happens when you're dealing with USSR factory vehicles.
The new part may now fit into its place.
Well, it's not the matter.
These seals will be put in place in the next video, and it should work.
Okay, gentlemen, we have 20 seconds.
These are the last 20 seconds of the ordinary life of
all people who are now standing with us at the traffic light.
They have 40 sec, to be exact.
After that, they'll meet a weird fast cargo vehicle.
Now it's a green light. Ooh.
There's going to race with… damn, a scooter.
And of course, he stands in front of me because he doesn't want to disturb any fast car.
It’s not his fault! We’re just some jerks who are driving ZIL.
We’ve also got a great advantage – that’s the wet surface.
Even fast cars with RWD can’t do much.
We could even beat Stilov’s car.
It's so scary, though!
That's the real shit!
Why are those so slow?
What do you think, where will this one go? To the right or straight?
BMW club doesn’t know what a blinker is. Well, he moved pretty much to the right.
Interesting! Is it a TV show, "Intuition"?
And we're launching now. We need to go straight.
Will he turn the signal on at the last moment or not?
Oh look, he's kind of hopped-up!
He's getting it!
And he was rushing forward, for real. He definitely did.
Oh damn! I’m shocked!
It’s such a shock!
"I’m gonna kick all of your asses! Tear you to pieces! Who’s there? Who’s next? Bring them to me!"
What about a little rush?
Is this an axle shaft?
Yeah, it is.
Crime and Punishment.
I'm 100% sure.
Front wheels were slipping, and then it caught the grip on wet surface and…
I know that sound.
Let's try again.
We still have an RWD.
Guys, don't make your race on the wet, take my tip.
We didn't want to wait.
We had to until the surface would become dry with the sun, and we could be fine.
But now we've been kicking asses on the wet road, and we broke the axle shaft.
Well, this is it.
We're slipping at the spot with the rear wheels, and we can't do anything with it.
Okay, whatever, time to go back to the service!
We’re done for today.
Look, it’s so classic, actually.
It can't be so lovely in real life.
If it was dry here, we could make those 6 secs with the RWD only.
We could have a chance.
But the surface is wet. It will just be slipping on the spot.
By the way, this Accent is going to make some race with us.
He's in the right lane, and he's looking at the traffic light. Look at that, bro.
We're going to beat him with the RWD, okay.
5, 4, 3…
Well? Everyone’s freezing. That’s it!
Wheels are slipping so much.
I can’t help it, we just don’t catch the grip!
But we're still going, you know!
The fact that we're doing it on our on wheels is already impressive.
I understand now. I better go on the dry surface only.
No skid, just don't.
We've got a fantastic final cut of this episode.
It's almost like a classical production.
We came to the service station, and then we got a repair, assembled everything up and tested it,
kicked some asses, dominated, and broke the vehicle!
Time to go back to the service.
The reason for coming back is not only an axle shaft.
Anyway, there should be one more episode of this.
I think we still have something to work on.
There are many tiny technical changes about which you will know in the next video.
There also can be some significant changes in the interior and exterior.
This ZIL is going to work for a long time.
Finally, its protective canopy will be back, and we won’t need to take it off ever again.
How could this be possible?
But still, we found an existing technology for that.
There is also a huge amount of ideas. The main is about to improve stability.
Driving this fast truck is real fun.
What we have to do there?
Reduce the number of returns to the service because of technical problems
and increase the time of domination on the road to the time that I need.
The one thing I could say about people of the Screw team
is great thanks not only for their straight and skillful hands but also for their initiative,
which is more important here.
They found the key of the lock, and these gauges were integrated.
By the way, these guys are a bit weird because they do all the stuff with their own hands.
They don’t use outsourcing too much, except painting works and some other details.
The fact that they deal with all the stuff by themselves
is saying that they’ve passed all our challenges.
And it means that we can leave it to them to finish the project.
The next task for them won't be rebuilding, but a completely custom!
That could be really hard to do.
I think it will have something to do with hydraulics. I suppose so.
But I'm also open to pneumatics,
but taking into account the speed values of the project,
I think that hydraulics will come in handy.
What we need now is a little help.
Screw service people aren't Gods, of course.
That why we need someone who can reinforce and customize our front axle shafts,
which we have broken today.
Please contact us if you're the one who can do this for us.
If you're able to build some extra reinforced axle shafts and do it quickly –
I'm sure we'll work well together.
We really need stiffer front shafts to avoid such breakdowns as we got today.
As for the rest, I'd say that this ZIL truck is always joyful emotions,
which we just multiplied with Screw’s help.
I sit on original seats inside, and I open new windows,
the windshield is also new, and all indicators are blinking correctly.
So, this is the same car that we had, but at the same time,
its small details bring so many emotions.
You may just sit in it and stare at all the stuff, how it works.
You're noticing things that were here from the factory,
but actually, it's a vehicle which is as fast as BMW X5M of the new generation.
This is just perfect!
The next episode is going to come much sooner than the current one.
You'll have to!
You must do it.
But, they have so much of missing work,
and they thought they could manage with that for a week.
Honestly, customers are already crying.
Dima Abrosimov is here – when you'll be done with the engine overhaul?
Sheriff Tow Car is here – when are you going to swap?
Shortly, it's a complete disaster.
Usual service, they're all fine.
I'm not doing any advertising here
These assholes make mistakes, you know, and I'm staying here with pleasure, to be honest.
I'm an asshole, how can I live in this world without any other assholes?
We'll definitely work well together!
Thank you so much for watching the video.
Our next goal is to make 5.5 seconds of 0-100 times.
But there's a secret which we didn't check yet.
Bring the air pressure gauge, please!
Perhaps we’re about to find it out now, but you'll know about it in a couple of weeks.
Thank you so much for watching! Great luck to you and goodbye!
